I have found that a roller puts down better stripes than dragging something.This is what I made after testing multiple stripers such as dragging a mat behind the mower and dragging the PVC (instead of rolling).The metal striper holds in the shackle by a hose clamp because it is not threaded.I use the same chain, carabiners, and shackles for each striper.I do not see a huge difference between how they stripe. Put both lock nuts on and tighten enough until there is still some room for the shackle to move left and right.

Place other end cap on and get the rod through the hole in end cap.

Place one end cap on PVC pipe and thread the rod through the pipe and end cap.

Measure width from middle of rear tire to other rear tire (mine was about 30").

Attach metal angle by putting the bolts back on with the metal angle now attached to the mower.

Only need to be big enough to fit carabiner.

On other side of metal angle, I drilled 2 holes on either end with 1/2" bit I believe.

Then drill 2 holes (same size as bolts) with the measured width on one side of the metal angle.

My mower had some bolts on the back which I unscrewed and measured the width.
